| ABOUT
THE PLAY
I wrote this one-act play as a pressure release valve after
long days in the Queer as Folk writing room. It's
a funny, racy and provocative exploration of the world of
gay cyberporn, and it premiered at the 2005 Toronto
Fringe Festival.
Unfortunately, time pressure forced us
to race through much of the dialogue in such a way that many
of the jokes didn't land with the audience. We got a lot of
reports afterward that people were somewhat overwhelmed with
the wall of words. So, not only have I learned an important
lesson, but I've made the play available in paperback (see
left).

the other two in the trilogy, please visit Sir Richard's website,

SYNOPSIS
Sir Richard Wadd is a fun-loving, law-abiding, genre-defying
showman; an intelligent, proud and unapologetic producer of
home-made gay
porn with a decidedly literary flair. Assisted
by Tristan and Troy, his two dashing and loyal performers,
Sir Richard takes his voyeuristic web-cam audience on a wide-ranging
romp through the anals [sic] of modern-day cyber-erotica.
But when Kevin, a 14 year-old runaway,
shows up on his doorstep looking for work (not to mention
validation, compassion, and love), Sir Richard’s humanity
is suddenly put to the test: the law makes it extremely dangerous
for the pornographer to have underage kids anywhere near him,
yet Richard’s genuine sense of decency longs to offer
Kevin a much-needed helping hand. |
